Departmental printers can be defined as LSU mainframe printers for distributed printing of mainframe reports.  Mainframe batch jobs and on-line transactions often generate report output that can be routed to the destination of choice for a mainframe user. This service provides the work to generate a mainframe definition that points to an existing departmental printer.

Eligibility
Faculty and Staff with Mainframe access.
Ordering & Request Procedures Forms or Links
Request a new mainframe printer via a LSU Help Desk request. Please make sure contact name, department, printer type and printer hostname are provided. The printer should support PCL 5 or later and PJL. Both of these are HP protocols and most printer documentation will indicated if they are supported.

This request requires that you submit a request to the ITS Help Desk.   If you do not have a PAWS ID and cannot login to the help desk self-service portal then see “Need more help?” below for additional contact information.
